Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Manufacturer and supplier of outdoor power products Husqvarna will eliminate 200 jobs in Tandsbyn, Huskvarna, Höör and Ödeshög. Management stated that "Huqvarnas manufacture is too fragmented with a number of small unites, which leads to ineffective use of resources." The restructuring is expected to streamline operations and increase efficiency. As part of the restructuring plan, the factories in Huskvarna and Höör will be offshored to Poland while the factories in Ödeshög and Tandsbyn will be closed. This announcement is part of a larger restructuring programme resulting in job cuts in the United States.
