Description
La Redoute, subsidiary of the mail-order and online clothing retailer PPR, has announced restructuring plan involving the reduction of 230 to 260 jobs through voluntary departures. The restructuring plan aims at the elimination of jobs among employees aged 57 and over. The trade union refused to sign the plan. La Redoute had already cut 672 jobs at the end of 2008 (see related fact sheet 11786). PPR, formerly Pinault-Printemps-Redoute, is a France-based company that specializes in retail and distribution of luxury goods. The company's retail division is specialised in fashion, accessories, beauty care products, home furnishings, electronic goods and household appliances.
