Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Wienerberger Téglaipari Zrt announced the dismissal of 230 workers with the closure of 3 out of its 12 brick production facilities in Abony, Kisbér, and Mezőtúr. Also in 3 other plants Sopron (Győr-Sopron county), Bátaszék (Tolna county) Békéscsaba (Békés county) the company is executing layoffs to establish a level of employment just enough to carry out duties related to maintenance and conservation. By these measures the company's headcount will shrink from 560 to 330 employees.
The Hungarian filial is part of Wienerberger AG, with headquarters in Wien (Austria), the world largest brick manufacturer. The mother company was founded in 1819 and listed in the Wien stock exchange since 1869.
