Description
Nypro Hungary Műanyagtechnikai Kft. dismissed 800 of 900 workers at its Nagyigmánd location, which produces plastic parts for Nokia. The redundancies occurred because the company's contracts were not renewed. The company provided recommendations for employees to other companies and organised an employment fair.
The company's began operation in the country via a joint venture with Karsai Kft. in 2001. The production plant in Nagyigmánd was set up in 2003, and from 2004 it became fully owned by its US mother company. Nypro, headquartered in Clinton (USA), is an employee-owned plastics company founded in 1955
