Description
Compass Group France, a subsidiary of the UK catering company Compass Group, has announced its plans to cut 104 jobs between November 2009 and July 2010. 118 jobs will be reduced and 10 vacancies will not be filled. At the same time, 10 new jobs are to be created.
A staff reduction is needed because the company has merged operations at its headquarter in Chatillon.
Trade unions and employees contested this decision in October 2009. Compass Group France assured that it wants to avoid direct lay-offs. In total, the group employs some 15,000 people in France.
