Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The multinational manufacturer of pharmaceutical preparations, Lundbeck, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, announced 23-09-2009 that the company will have to dismiss between 200 and 220 employees as a consequense of a streamlining programme, which is part of the strategy plan 'Decisions Now'. In the coming weeks, the co-operation committee of the company will discuss how to mitigate the effects of the redundancies on the employees.
