Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
First Solar, a solar cell manufacturer, has announced that it will set up a new photovoltaic cell production site by the end of 2011 employing 300 people in the Rhône-Alpes region.
The company, which is owned by Electricité de France (France) and General Electric (US), will build the solar panels plant either in the department of Rhone or in the department of Savoie.
After having failed to put up the facility in Peyruis in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, GE revived the plan to invest in the Rhône-Alpes region, which is more industrialised and provides more developed services.
