Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Scana Steel in Björneborg, which supplies metal products to marine, offshore, energy, machinery and steel sectors, has given notice to 100 employees, 80 blue-collars and 20 white-collars, due to lack of orders and that it estimates that the recession will affect the company longer than expected. The negotiations will be finished during September and the affected employees will leave the company in January 2010. The company's main products are shafts, rotors, risers and joints, as well as forged steel for tool manufacturers.
