Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Fagerhult, which manufactures lighting for public environments, will dismiss 115 employees due to the closure of plants in Falkenberg and Borås. 61 employees in Falkenberg, of which 45 are blue collar and 54 are employees in Borås, of which 37 are blue collar will be made redundant. According to the company, the redundancies are a result of over-capacity. Some of the work will be offshored to the group's factory in Suzhous, China, but most of the manufacturing is now moving to locations in Habo and Åhus.
