Schmitz Cargobull, the leading European manufacturer of trailers and semi-trailers for commercial vehicles, announced the cutting of 411 jobs in Germany. The family-owned company employs a workforce of 5,360 (including temporary workers). Handelsblatt quotes the employers' association VDA saying that due to the recession orders of trucks have dropped by 60% and orders of trailers by 90%.
