Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 24 August 2009, Pfleiderer, a provider of engineered wood products, announced it will cut 200 out of 5,800 jobs worldwide by the end of the year. The company's low earnings attributed to the fiancial and economic crisis has increased its debts. Pfleiderer management is currently holding talks with its bank. It also adheres to strict cost management to improve the company's financial situation.
