European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Low-cost travel agent Budget Travel has announced 95 redundancies out of a total labour force of 266. The redundancies will mean that the company plans to close 14 of its 31 shops across Ireland. The company has attributed the redundancies to a 30 per cent-plus drop in the number of package holidays booked recently. Budget Travel intends cutting 75 staff across its Irish retail network plus an additional 20 from its head office.
