Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The windmill subcontractor Hendricks Industries announced on 2 July 2009 that 120 jobs in the production department, in Herning, will be offshored to China. In April this year, Hendricks shed 89 jobs. On 11 August 2009, 27 out 54 salaried employees in the administartion were fired. On the same date, the director stated that all redundancies had been made and that the remaining 110 employees will keep their jobs in Herning.
