Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

French truck-trailer maker Samro has announced that the group plans to cut 109 jobs (out of 473 employees) in September.
The lay-offs will concern the employees of three facilities in France, operated by subsidiary Seg-Samro -- in Fontenay-le-Comte, Baligny and Nort-sur-Erdre.
These moves have been prompted by a significant slowdown in revenue. Sales fell to EUR 35 million in the first half of 2009, from year-earlier EUR 95 million. Samro closed 2008 with a EUR 160 million revenue, 30% of which was generated abroad.
