Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
US oil and gas products and services provider Cameron International Corporation has announced that Cameron France SAS will cut by the end of December 2009 142 jobs out of 850 at its site in Beziers, southwestern France.
The measure is part of a restructuring plan on a worldwide scale aimed to cope with a 50% drop in orders since the beginning of the year caused by a decline in drilling activities.
The company´s management also reached an agreement with trade unions.
The firm said that Cameron France posted a revenue of EUR 850 million in 2008. Cameron International Corporation, the world's 4th largest environment/waste management company by market capitalisation, is a provider of flow equipment products, systems and services to worldwide oil, gas and process industries.
