Description
The world consortium Silpro (Silicium de Provence) has announced that this consortium filed for liquidation bankruptcy of the company. The entire workforce of 250 persons is facing job loss in 2009.
In its July 29 first-half earnings statement, EDF Energies Nouvelles said it had made a provision of EUR 20.2 million to cover its commitments relating to SilPro.
German photovoltaic module maker Solon SE said that it had incurred impairment losses of EUR 52 million from the insolvency of French SilPro.
The losses will be recognised in the financial report for the second quarter of 2009, due on 18 August 2009.
