Description
Nova Kreditna banka Maribor (NKBM), a bank in Slovenia, has reduced its workforce by 138.
NKBM is the second largest bank in Slovenia. The bank, located in Maribor in the Podravska region, is still in the majority state ownership. Due to financial crises, NKBM decided to gradually cut the labour costs and to reduce the employment by 5% (138 people). Thus, by the end of 2009 the bank will reduce the number of employees from existing 2773 to 2635. NKBM will use soft methods of employment reduction via retirement and in agreement with employees.
