Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Teleperformance USA, a company specialised in contact center management, has announced that it will lay off 157 employees in France. Additionally, the management envisages to implement a 'mobility plan' (plan de mobilité') affecting 318 employees and a 'redeployment plan' (plan de reclassement) for another 157 employees.
The redundancies are the result of a client's decision to reduce overcapacity and streamline some operations into fewer locations. Teleperformance management emphasized that the client's decision is not a reflection of level of performance at the affected sites, but rather a strategic move designed to rationalise resources.
