Nortel Networks UK, a telecoms company, is to cut 150 jobs across the UK after going into administration in January 2009. The posts are being cut from the Maidenhead headquarters, Newtownabbey in County Antrim and Harlow, Essex, according to former workers. The cuts were blamed on falling revenues. No redundancy pay was given to employees, in order to secure the company's future according to the administrators.
