Transcom Worldwide, one of the main global providers of customer relationship management and credit management services, is to close its call-centre in L'Aquila, Italy, leading to the loss of 360 jobs. According to the company, the closure is due to both the fall on demand linked to the recent economic recession and the increasing global competition. Moreover, the Transcom building has been seriously damaged by a recent earthquake in the L'Aquila area.
The trade unions reacted to the company's decision by announcing some industrial action and public demonstrations to protest against the closure of the L'Aquila call centre.
Transcom Worldwide is a global provider of customer relationship management and credit management solutions. It has 72 sites and around 16,200 employees in 29 countries.
