Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Kinnarps Interior, a manufacturer of furniture, has given notice to 145 of its employees in the Swedish municipalities of Falköping and Jönköping. At the main factory in Kinnarp 80 blue collar workers and 25 white collar workers have been given their notice. Notice was also given to 25 employees in Skillingaryd and 15 employees in Jönköping . The reason for the redundancies is the weak demand caused by economic recession.
Kinnarps Interior is part of the Kinnarp group, and manufactures furniture mainly for offices, schools and health care facilities.
