Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Timken, a supplier of ball bearings to the automotive, railway, and aerospace industries, plans to cut 100 jobs at its Sosnowiec factory by the end of 2009. These job cuts will come on top of the 200 redundancies which have been implemented since the beginning of the year. Timken's main clients are Ford, General Motors, Volkswagen, and Peugeot.
