Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The finance and insurance company Gjensidige announced that they will recruit 160 new customer advisors during 2009. The company has 3640 employees today, the majority - 2800 - in Norway. The manager, Trond Delbekk, said to Dagens Næringsliv that instead of recruiting one person at a time, the company will advertise and recruit groupwise. The first group of 35-40 will be employed before summer. Delbekk also says that outsourcing of this activity is not an option.
