Description
Nike, the multinational company making athletic footwear and apparel, is to cut 1,750 jobs by the beginning of 2010. According to the company, the lay-offs are mainly due to the drop in demand and sales of Nike products registered during the current economic crisis.
Nike has 35,000 employees worldwide.
