Sekurit, one of the leading glass manufacturers in the world, is to close its plant at Savigliano, in the province of Cuneo, with the consequent loss of 250 jobs. The trade unions reacted to the company's decision by going out on strike and demanding the involvement of the national and local authorities in order to avoid the closure of the Sekurit's plant. Saint-Gobain is active in five main sectors: flat glass, high-performance materials, construction products, building distribution and packaging.
