Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In January 2009 Daugavpils locomotive repair factory (DLRR) announced that it is to cut 600 jobs from 1 March 2009 onwards. From January 2009 to April 2009 the number of employed persons has been diminishing from 1197 to 987: 219 employees have lost their jobs over the last four months.
