Producer of footwear Adidas has announced a new restructuring plan due to a 2% drop in sales in the 1st quarter of 2009. The company expects to bring savings of 100 million EUR by 2010.
About 700 jobs are to be cut worldwide in the first half of 2009 and another 300 jobs will be lost by the end of the year. The job losses will affect the regional headquarters in Asia and Europe and retail stores. There is no precise information on where and under which conditions these jobs will be cut. According to FTD, cuts are likely to affect Reebok and Tailormade Golf which saw a drop in sales of 4-6 %.
