Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
A French subsidiary of the German manufacturer of automotive equipment and motors, ZF Sachs, announced the closure of its site in Mouy (Oise) employing 219 people by the end of 2009. The decision to close the site is a response to a decline experienced in the activity since 2001 following the pull out of Renault among its main clients, amplified by the crisis in the automotive sector.
In 2006 the workforce had been reduced as a result of offshoring, with part of the production going to Turkey and Poland.
