Sony, a multi-national electronics group has closed its site in Pontonx-sur-l'Adour in Aquitaine with a total workforce of 311 employees following two failed attempts of takeover. The closure of the site specialised in the manufacture of magnetic tape was announced in December. The company indicated that a contribution of 13 million euro will help to promote the redevelopment of industries in the site where the activities involve former employees of the plant.
