Kockums, which produces and maintains naval craft, gave notice to 183 employees in Malmö, Muskö, and Karlskrona. The redundancies are the result of decreased demand.
Kockums designs, builds and maintains submarines and naval surface vessels that incorporate advanced stealth technology. Other products include the Stirling Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) system, the Kockums Submarine Rescue System and mine clearance systems. Kockums is part of Thyssen Krupp Marine Systems.
