Description
CD manufacturer EDC, is to shut down its plant in Blackburn, Lancashire with a loss of 260 jobs. It will move operations to Hannover, Germany where it has a manufacturing and distribution plant. The closure will be completed by the end of 2009 when all notice periods will have been worked out at the unit.
The decision by managemnt of EDCI Holdings, Inc., which is the holding company for Entertainment Distribution Company, Inc., the majority shareholder of Entertainment Distribution Company (EDC), came after an extensive feasiblity study into the consolidation of the two plants.
