Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
On 25 March 2009, the German technology group Rheinmetall announced to cut 1,000 jobs worldwide by the end of the year. Job cuts will be realised in the automotive branch of the company which employs around 11,200 people worldwide. As of April 2009, there is however no information available on the affected locations.
