Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Computer giant Hewlett Packard has announced 500 new jobs at its site in Kildare. The new jobs will be created with the establishment of a multi-lingual technical support centre. The global support centre will employ a variety of staff, including high-skill graduates. Research and development jobs will also be created. HP currently employs approximately 4,000 people in Ireland in Dublin, Leixlip, Galway and Belfast.
