Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Nordic Interior Group has announced voluntary winding up for its chain of interior shops Fryd with the loss of 250 employees. Last year Fryd had a deficit of 250 million NOK. Also Festival Engros, a wholesaler of the Nordic Interior Group, has announced its closure with the loss of 65 jobs.
The provisional liquidator said to Dagens Næringsliv that the liquidation process will be completed by the end of March. Before the winding up notice the Nordic Interior Group separated out the chain Til bords from Fryd. Til bords has 115 shops and 500 employees; according to the owner, Til bords has satisfactory economic results.
