Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Grammer, a subsidiary of a German automotive parts producer, is to cut all 311 jobs at its site in Horaždovice by the end of 2009 due to a sharp economic downturn. The mother group has said the production will continue at the three remaining plants (Tachov, Most, Dolní Karlovice) where about 1,100 people are employed. However, according to the CEO, any further dismissals cannot be fully ruled out.
