Description
French company SEB is restructuring affiliate Rowenta, a manufacturer of small household goods, with the loss of 119 jobs (out of 290) at the German manufacturing site at Erbach. This is part of a large restructuring affecting other European countries such as France where another 95 jobs (out of 1,020) will be cut at Pont-Eveque. Negotations with the metalworkers' union IG Metall on a social plan are taking place.
After the purchase of Rowenta in 1987, SEB has relocated production to China. Erbach is the remaining manufacturing site in Germany.
