Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Portuguese Prime Minister announced the creation of 450 new jobs with the construction of a second hydroelectric station in Alqueva (Alentejo). With an investment of 160 million Euro, the project will allow Portugal to reduce its oil dependency from other countries. This hydroelectric station is expected to be operational in December 2011. The Prime Minister considers this investment absolutely safe and necessary to face the consequences of the economical and financial crisis.
