Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Euronadel, which manufactures industrial needle makers, is to close its plant in Cascais, Portugal with the loss of 182 jobs. The closure was announced by the parent company Groz-Breckert Group. The German company said weak demand in the textile industry for its products are behind the decision. This closure will affect all 182 workers. The multinational company guarantees that the dismissed workers will receive compensation payments above the law.
