Description

Okin Kft (formerly known as Dikon Készülékgyártó Kft) has announced the closure of the Várpalota plant with the loss of all 250 jobs. The decision was triggered by the falling demand of the company's products. All redundant workers had been offered jobs in the company's other plant in Hajdudorog. Fifty workers accepted this offer though they have to manage daily commuting to the other plant some 150 kms away.

Okin Hungay is part of Okin Gesellschaft für Antrebstechnik GmbH & Co. KG with headquarters in Gummersbach (Germany). The Hungarian plants produce electrical devices for medical, office and fitness equipment / furniture.
