Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
According to different, contradictory media reports, the forge specialist Krenhof Schmiedetechnik has, in February 2009, cut in between 44 and one-third of its current 280 employees, both core staff and temporary agency workers. The automotive supplier has had to face a drop in order intakes by up to 75 percentage points in recent times. Currently, the whole workforce is taking compulsory leave. No more information has been reported thus far.
