Description
IPS Alpha Technology Europe, a flat-screen TV manufacturer, has announced that it is to axe 407 jobs out of a total 1,550 at its Žatec site (Triangle industrial zone) by the end of March 2009 due to the global economic downturn. IPS Alpha is a joint venture of three Japanese firms (Hitachi, Panasonic and Toshiba) and has been operating in the Czech Republic since the beginning of 2007 (see fact sheet No 7225).
