Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bumar Łabędy of Gliwice, an armament manufacturer, will make 1,600 employees redundant out of its 3,300 strong workforce. The redundancies will be implemented by the end of 2009. The company blames the job losses on falling orders for its products, which include tanks and other fighting vehicles.
