The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Virgin Atlantic, an airline company, has announced that it is to cut 600 jobs. The Crawley-based company, which employs 8,400 people, has stated that it is cutting costs as it has reduced the prices of its tickets in order to increase demand. As of 15 February 2009 no announcement has been made as to when these jobs will be cut.
