Airline maintenance company SR Technics has announced that it is to close its Dublin plant. As a result, up to 1,135 employees could be made redundant. Formal notice of termination will be sent to employees from 14 March. However, 200 jobs in line maintenance could be retained if SR Technics can outsource its line maintenance contracts. The company attributed the announcement to the recent loss of major contracts and high costs in Ireland.
The Irish authorities applied for aid from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
