Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Motor vehicule parts and accessories company Cimos TAM has reduced the number of employees from 920 to 750 at its plant in Maribor in the last couple of months. Employees with fixed-term contracts and those hired via employment agencies have lost jobs. Some additional employees may lose jobs in the near future. The reason for the job cuts is reduced orders due to the economic downturn. Cimos TAM, which is located in North-Eastern Slovenia and produces flywheels, brake drums, central and compressor housings, belongs to the Cimos group.
