MAHLE Systems Engine, a manufacturer of engine components, is to cut up to 160 jobs at its Kilmarnock site in Scotland. The cuts were blamed on the current downturn in the automotive industry. The company has started consultations with the unions over the job losses. As of 4 February 2009 there is no further information on when the cuts will occur.
