Description

On 27 January 2009, Schiphol Airport announced that it will cut between 220 and 550 jobs over the next two years. This cut represents a 10-25% reduction of the workforce (2,200 employees). The cuts are due to falling transport figures and increased competition. Schipol Airport has also pointed to the credit crisis and a new tax for passengers (introduced on 1 July). The restucturing will affect all types of jobs. Forced dismissals are not ruled out.
