Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Vilniaus Ventos puslaidininkiai, specialised in customised design and in the production of semiconductor devices, intends to dismissĀ 106 employees in Vilnius. At present the company employs 336 people. The main causes for dismissal are the decreased volume of contracts as well as the rise in energy pricesĀ in resources. A special prevention programme that will provide measures for the alleviation of the consequences from the job reduction is in preparation and will be revealed by 9 February, 2009.
