Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Sauer-Danfoss is to cut 210 jobs by selling its Odense-based production of electromotors to Schabmüller Gmbh in Germany. The production, which is mainly for forklift trucks, will be moved to Germany and some of the specialised redundant employees will be offered jobs in the new company. Sauer-Danfoss had approximately 2700 employees in Denmark before the closure in Odense which is expected to be completed by the end of April 2009.
As reported, Denmark has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
