Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Prado Tuft, which manufactures carpets and rugs, is set to close its production site located in Kuurne, and lay off 182 employees. Prado Tuft is a subsidiary of the associated weavers international that holds several textile manufacturers in Belgium. The end of 2008 saw several restructuring processes and closures in the textile sector, which is severely affected by a decrease in demand and an increase in production costs.
